Völkerball as a high quality photo book with 190 pages in format 27cm x 31cm will additionally to the content of the standard and special edition include an extra audio CD with further live recordings, which contains the entire concert. The pictures were taken by the French photographer Frederic Batier and address for a big part those areas, which one seldom gets to see. The band, highly concentrated during the last minutes before the concert, the band on stage but also during off-days. However, the band will not be playing any shows this year because they are busy working on songs for the new album! Völkerball ECHO nomination March 11, 2007 Rammstein have been nominated for an ECHO award for their latest live DVD/CD, Völkerball. The German ECHO awards are similar to the American Grammy Awards. The basis for the award is simply the best-placed music DVD production as determined by Media Control, the official German charts. Rammstein are up against Depeche Mode (Touring the Angel), Pink Floyd (Pulse), Robbie Williams (And Through it All), and Tokio Hotel (Schrei). The awards will take place in Berlin on March 25, 2007. "Best of" album and Bushido January 21, 2007 German rapper Bushido mentioned in a recent interview that he has recorded a song called "Vergiss uns nicht" (Don't forget us) with Rammstein. He said he wasn't sure whether it will be on their "best of" album or not. This is the first mention of both the song and a possible "best of" album. The live material is taken from France (Les Arenes de Nimes, July 23, 2005), England (Brixton Academy, London, between February 3 and 5, 2005), Japan (Club Citta, Tokyo, June 3, 2005), and Russia (Sport Complex Olympiski, Moscow, November 28, 2004). More was promised, so stay tuned. New DVD and CD September 4, 2006 It's been a work in progress for a long time now, originally slated for release around Christmas last year. Now, however, we finally have some concrete information. "Völkerball" will be released in both a standard and special edition. It is already finished and should be in stores around the end of October. Much more has found its way onto the DVD than previously planned, including almost three hours of live material from France, Japan, England, and Russia. In the special edition, there will be an additional DVD that includes two documentaries that run a total of over 90 minutes. The CD that is included with both editions contains 75 minutes of live material. The name is a pun and can either be translated as "dodgeball" (i.e. the game) or "people's ball" (i.e. dancing with people from different countries). More information to follow! Rammstein videos on the ITMS May 7, 2006 All videos that Rammstein have ever released can now be found in the iTunes Music Store. From Seemann to Mann gegen Mann, they are each priced at $1.99 on the US store and €2.49 on the German store (prices may vary elsewhere). Herzeleid.com receives award May 6, 2006 Platinum AwardIn December of last year, Rammstein held a big party in Berlin to celebrate the platinum status of their last two CDs in Germany. At the party, the band received platinum awards and also honored those who have contributed to their success throughout the years. I wasn't able to make it to the party as I had prior arrangements (I was out of the country), but I was later notified that Herzeleid.com was among those honored with an award! It was made by Dirk Rudolph (who is often credited with "sleeve design" on Rammstein's CDs) and was just finished. It looks beautiful (the picture does not do it justice) and is approximately 110 cm tall (3.6 feet). Richard confirms that there will be a video for "Stirb nicht vor mir" and gives some information about his solo project among other things. Rosenrot US release date March 19, 2006 Universal Music has finally posted a US release date for Rammstein's latest album Rosenrot. It is not easy to find on their site, but can be accessed through the search. The release is set for March 28, 2006 and will mark the first time that a non-import version of Rosenrot will be available in the US. It is unknown whether it will contain the DVD that the original release does, but the listing on Amazon.com does not mention it. Update: The album will include the DVD!
