yea i did spell it rite,just checked,also try the legendary Samia Gamal and Nagwa fouad(earlier 1950s videos) at the time back home in the middle east dancers costumes and movies where influenced by Las Vegas and vice versa.

Yes, yes, I agree. I was taught in cabaret. I didn't mean cabaret in the Western sense, even though cabaret means similar things in both the East and Western terminology; fun, flashy, bright, etc. I'm not a big fan of Ansuya actually. She's a good dancer but she's SO busy ALL the time! Lol. The Classical Egyptian dancers I know agree with me. I do respect her a dancer though. She's amazing.

I'm not sure I've seen either of those before. I'll deffinatly check them out. I love that older stuff though. It's always SO funny in the old movies how over dramatic they can be with the men just gawking and drooling while watching the dance. Lol.

haha,well the movie is old and the men are arabian so wat do u expect:P if u liked it,it is my mission in the world to let everyone know about Naima Akef.I grew up watching her on tv.Try and find historical material to read about her.She is a very important lady in my culture.she started it all really.

Oh, yes Naima. My teacher is very fond of her too. The first few days of her class all we did were watch old movies of great dancers in history. I have so much respect for Naima Akef.

for real man,and her story is so amazing,u know after she didnt even knwo how to read and write when she started (came from a syrian circus family moved to egypt) then she tought her self how to read and speak french italian and english..respect.. respect...plus much respect to her eye make up.
