I have played in several orchestras, and love doing so...I just listen more than I watch! Great composition and I have much respect for Mravinsky! __________________________________________________

The fact that Mravinsky premiered this work, was Shostakovich's favorite conductor, and even had Shostakovich dedicate one of his symphonies to him is irrelevent to these great armchair conductors. __________________________________________________

In fact, his music composed specially for movies is very commonplace. __________________________________________________

To use another example, Igor Stavinsky was infuriated when he learned that Disney used a movement from THE RITE OF SPRING in his FANTASIA.
