Description:

Between Return of the Jedi (1983) and the Phantom Menace (1999) there was a sixteen year gap in which technology and pop culture changed in such a drastic way that movies of the two eras became without comparison. But I've always wondered, what would have happened if the whole series came out in the 1980s? Would the pop music of the era have any influence on the series? With that in mind, I set out to take the core of the Star Wars love story from Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones (2002) and make a fan music video to the tune of "Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now" by Starship. Just picture yourself 21 years ago, sitting on the couch, drinking a Tab Soda, snacking on Doritos, watching MTV with a friend, when lo and behold, a music video for Star Wars comes on, promoting the romantic aspects of the film. That's exactly what I had in mind when I arranged this video together! In my opinion, the 1980s had the best romance movies and the best romantic music ever. Just the way people kissed on screen in the 1980s alone still sends shivers down my spine - how couples would kiss right on top of an intense crescendo - and how kisses and warm embraces were portrayed as having the power to free nations and save worlds. Wow. I have to admit, watching this movie, there were certain points in arranging the clips where I just wanted to stop and scream ... the scene where Padme and Anakin kiss in front of the lake with the music in the background is really out of this world. This song is like the ultimate prom song for a first dance with someone you're interested in. I could have gone modern and done something contemporary like Usher, Lil Jon, Omarion, Bow Wow, Alicia Keys, and all the other music this new generation likes so much, but I hope that all generations who watch this will see that the 1980s was a special time for love, and there's just a certain magic about falling in love ... 1980s style. Anyways, check out this fanvid, enjoy, and to my fellow generation friends, ROCK ON!!!
