SolitarySounds ::: Favorites Do any fire alarms in the UK have strobe lights or incandescent lights on them? Or are they just horns? 07-08-31 19:26:04 __________________________________________________
brownguyrav2007 ::: Favorites No, not that I now of! our fire alarm sounders have an option of a built in strobe, but the strobe is either red to indicate a fire alarm but you can get the strobe to have either clear LED's and xenon bulbs or you can ask the com pany to put a white strobe cover over the bulbs. 07-09-01 09:25:12 __________________________________________________
SolitarySounds ::: Favorites Wow thanks! So you guys do have an optional light source. Here in America, since 1990, it is a requirement to have strobe lights with clear lenses, not translucent lenses. And we don't have LED's yet in our alarms, just xenon bulbs. You guys are way ahead of us, in technology. 07-09-01 09:31:59 __________________________________________________
brownguyrav2007 ::: Favorites Yeah I know!! we are only ahead in fire safety and you are ahead in evry other department!!!!! you can order UK alarms and ask the company to sip the products over to your house if you ask nicely! 07-09-02 12:02:26 __________________________________________________
SolitarySounds ::: Favorites Yeah I could, but it might cost more to ship it over to the U.S. I am actually part English. I haven't visited the U.K. before, yet, but I was almost everywhere in Northern Europe in March this year, on a school trip. I've seen the same kind of alarms in most stores and restaurants during my trip. I've also seen horns there that looked similar to an American System sensor MASS series, but it was smaller. 07-09-02 13:05:11 __________________________________________________
AndrooUK ::: Favorites Well I think it should be compulsory to have all sounders with built in LED strobes, and for example in school/college, have sounders in each teaching room... I think the USA has better placement and good idea with the strobes on each sounder, but the sound itself doesn't seem maybe as audible as it could be. 07-10-23 11:23:35 __________________________________________________
