Instead of arguing with Driscoll, you should consider interacting with the Scriptures. He's in line with Scripture in what he's saying. Your argument is strong with Scripture to back it up, but pretty weak without it.

Mark Driscoll is such a great teacher. Tell it like it is Pastor Mark, we need more men in the Church like you. Pastor Mark is no way chauvinist, he champions the value of women.

I agree with much of what Mark Driscoll says...but I must say that for him to equate homosexuality and pluralism with women in Leadership is just plain foolishness. I think that it is very arrogant when he makes these statements and then claims that he just agrees with the Bible.

It is very difficult to remain objective in light of something that smacks you in the face in opposition to what you believe, or have been taught. The way I judge... does it conflict with my flesh (causing emotional anger, discontent, etc.), or does it conflict with the Spirit of the Lord within me. It is much harder to reconcile when it conflicts with your spirit and not your mind.

Exactly. Some people seem to be putting words in his mouth and taking them out of context.

I think he was simply suggesting that there is still plenty of honor to be found in a mother choosing not to go to work and to stay home and raise their children, despite what our postmodern Nazi-femenistic culture would suggest.

Mark Driscoll is an idiot! He used a whole lot of words to say very little. His theology of women having a "calling" to stay home have babies and raise them is not Scriptural! Since when is childbearing a spiritual gift?

"The church has just got to accept the fact that it's going to be counter-cultural." That was refreshing. Good stuff.

Let us speak the truth in love but define love as God defines it and not as the world defines it. Amen. God is love, but the love that God is holy love, truthful love, righteous love, selfless love, perfect and perfecting love, and sinless love. He is the love that calls us to love Him with all heart mind soul and strength.

This is an amazing video - Mark Driscoll is an amazing speaker. It's refreshing to see someone these days who will openly and frankly state their beliefs, an not back down.
