Description: MAGIC POTION Written By Reid Baer I've no patience for the long road I'm on So I think myself adventurous For straying off the path And calling myself creative Or a special man That can not be held in any ruts Oh, yes - I'm off in pursuit of short cuts Now I know they're temptations of impatience really Perpetually in motion Stuck inside my emotion I'm selling out for bits and pieces Trading with urban hustlers Dallying with foreign-speaking hookers Losing my life-savings To slight of hand artists Forgetting myself With fawning makeover mavens And fantasizing over frilly fandango dancers Perpetually in motion Stuck inside my emotion Suffering with unfulfilled soulful needs I'm suddenly sucker punched from the reality of my Deeds and sobered up from my worship of Dionysus I'm left utterly alone and breathless facing the barking of the dogs Feeling shame at being deceived by a misguided notion That somehow out there - out there instead of in here I could substitute this existence With some - I don't know -- magic potion that kept me Perpetually in motion Stuck inside my emotion
